Staats: Nearly $1.2 Million Awarded for School Safety, Mental Health

HARRISBURG – State Rep. Craig Staats (R-Bucks) on Friday announced four school districts serving the 145th Legislative District will be awarded more than $1.18 million in School Safety and Mental Health Grants for physical security enhancements, behavioral health supports or both.

“Keeping students safe takes planning, good people and the resources to get the job done,” Staats said. “This funding will help our school districts strengthen building security and provide mental health support for students who need it. Those investments will benefit children, teachers and families throughout our communities.” 

The grants are:

  • Palisades School District - $160,764.
  • Pennridge School District - $353,317.
  • Quakertown Community School District - $303,272.
  • Souderton Area School District - $364,831.

The noncompetitive grant program is administered by the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency. Each school district receives a base allocation of $100,000, plus additional funding calculated using its 2024-25 adjusted average daily membership.
